I received this from Dick Ciampa today, just in case anyone was wondering how the "dying sport" was getting along before /after A-13 passed
"Here are the handles for Jax, DL and PB for the first 6 months of FY 2018-2019 or July 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018.
Jax did $49,593,459 from July 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018. For the same time period 2017 the total handle was $42,844,568 an increase of 15.7%.
DL did $44,488,901 from July 1. 2017 to December 31, 2017. For the same time period 2017 the total handle was $36,049,538 an increase of 23.4%
PB will need a little explaining, but here are the actual numbers.
PB did $73,620,536 from July 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018. For the same time period 2017 the total handle was $77,181,231 a decrease of 4.6%
However, starting with the new fiscal year PB eliminated their Tuesday afternoon card so there were 26 less race cards run. The Tuesday race cards from July 1, 2017 to December 31, 2018 had a total handle of $7,839,284 dollars. If you subtract the $7,839,284 from the $77,181,231 PB handled from July 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017 you would have a total handle of $69,341,947. This is comparing apples to apples.
You would now have PB with an increase of 6.2%.
